David Mark Huber, Jr., 93, of Willow Street, PA, went home to be with his faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 29, 2018. He was the husband of Kathleen (Moffett) Huber, to whom he was married for 63 years.
Born in Lancaster on November 3, 1924, Dave was the son of the late D. Mark and Pauline (Morton) Huber. He grew up in Willow Street, and graduated in 1943 from the West Lampeter High School. After High School, he entered the US Navy ROTC program and was sent to the University of Minnesota, where he received a BS in Naval Technology. He later served on the cruiser USS Cleveland.
After the war, Dave studied at Penn State University, receiving a BA in Commerce & Finance. Dave was a C.P.A. in private practice in Willow Street for over 50 years.
He was a founding member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, serving as an Elder, on the building committee, and was the church Treasurer for many years.
Dave was later a founding member, Elder and Treasurer of Harvest Presbyterian Church of Willow Street. He was a member there until his passing.
He served for 15 years as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Water Street Ministries, served as Tax Collector for West Lampeter Township for 20 years and was the first Zoning and Sanitation officer for the township.
Dave was Past President of the Willow Street Lions Club and a Board member and Secretary of the West Lampeter Community Fair. He was a Past President of the PA Society of Public Accountants and served as President of the Penn State Club of Lancaster.
In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by his children: Deborah married to Paul Kreider of Willow Street, Mark Huber of Lancaster and Mary Martha married to Mark Mylin on Angers, France; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a sister, Polly Church of Willow Street.
Traditional interment in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery will be private.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10 until 11:00 AM in the Harvest Presbyterian Church. The Memorial service is 11:00 AM in the church with Pastor William Massey officiating.
