George Bair
George C. Bair, 83, of Moravian Manor and formerly of Strasburg, died at LGH on January 25, 2012 following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Arlene (Shaubach) Bair, who died in 2011.
George was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He served in Okinawa from 1951 – 1952.
He worked as a wholesale route delivery and sales representative, and retired from Fleming Inc.
He was a member of the former Paul R. Strubel VFW Post #8710, Strasburg. He enjoyed hunting in Perry County with family and friends.
Born in Lancaster, George was the son of the late Clayton and Lillie (Rapp) Bair. He is survived by two sons, Barry married to Carol (Stauffer) Bair of Strasburg and Douglas Bair of Lancaster, three granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
There will be a Visitation on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 10:30 until 11 AM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. The Memorial service is 11 AM with Pastor Timothy Patterson officiating with interment in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery following the service.

Dick Chambers
Richard Kilburn Chambers Jr., D.O. 83, formerly of Strasburg, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at Aborview at Willow Valley. He was the husband of Helen (Jenkins) Chambers for 56 years.
Born in West Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Richard, Sr. and Edna, (Trostle) Chambers.
Dick graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1946, where he was a member of the football team and an all county tackle. He graduated from Albright College, class of 1950 and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1954.
He served his internship at the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital (LOH) and then entered into General Family Practice in Denver, PA. He was a past President of the Denver Lions Club. Four years later, he moved his practice to Strasburg, later establishing the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at LOH in 1966.
Dick became certified in Rehabilitation Medicine in 1973 by the American Osteopathic Association and the American Board of Osteopathic Rehabilitation Medicine. He was a Fellow of American Osteopathic College of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Dick and Helen lived in Strasburg for over 49 years. He was a co-founder of the Strasburg Swimming and Recreation Association, a Past President of the PTA, a founding member of the Strasburg Senior Citizens Association and was a member of the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. He was active with Boy Scouting and served as Chairman of the Southern (Sunny South) District for 12 years. Dick received the Silver Beaver award for service to Boy Scouting and he was a member of TBT.
His hobbies included gardening, genealogy, history, photography, railroading and he was a world traveler.
In addition to Helen, Dick is survived by his four children Carol Chambers Mills, Psy. D., of Mechanicsburg, Patti Chambers, D.O. married to Dr. Scott Deron and Richard K. III, married to Donna Chambers, Ph.D., both of Lancaster and Jeffrey Chambers A.I.A. married to Pamela Powell Chambers of Lititz and four grandchildren, Loren Deron, Nathan Deron, Shelby Deron and Elizabeth Chambers.

Muriel Dorsey
Muriel Parmer Dorsey, 87, Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Brethren Village Retirement Community, while under hospice care. Born in Lancaster, Muriel was a resident of Strasburg for 47 of the last 53 years and had also lived in Lancaster City and Steelville, Chester County. Muriel married Charles A. Dorsey (now deceased) in 1943 in Lancaster, where they started their family.
Muriel is survived by her wonderful and caring children – Mike and Judy Dorsey of Lancaster; Bill and Brenda Dorsey of Conestoga; Melanie Buch and Bob McLagen of Landisville; John and Heather Dorsey of Cleveland, Ohio; Alison and Michael Mallin, Matthew and Michelle Dorsey and daughter-in-law, Angie Dorsey, all of Lancaster. Muriel is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and her brother, Jack Parmer. She was preceded in death by her son Eric Dorsey and four brothers: Harry, Bill, Herb and Virgil.
Muriel’s greatest love and enjoyment were her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved music. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed the outdoors, walking daily during her years in Strasburg. She worked at the Strasburg Market Basket for many years. Her legacy is simply one of love and compassion for her fellow man, which she instilled into all of us.

Tuck Feister
Thomas L. “Tuck” Feister, 60, of Paradise, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at LGH following a brief illness. He was the husband of Janet E. (Fisher) Feister.
Tuck was self employed as a painting contractor.
He was a member of Christiana Lodge #417, F. & A.M., Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Harrisburg Consistory, Rajah Shrine, Lancaster County Shrine Club and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Lancaster Forest #27.
Tuck enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycle and was a member of Hiram Scottish Riders.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Thomas F. Feister and Rhoda (Brackbill) Feister of Elizabethtown. Tuck is also survived by two sisters, Sandra married to Joseph Harbaugh of Honey Grove and Deborah married to Sam Linton of Ronks, Janet’s son, Mike Burkholder married to Valerie of Kinzers, Mike’s children, Zak Burkholder married to Jen of Strasburg and Danica Burkholder of Kinzers, and Mike’s grandson, Javin. Tuck is also survived by nieces and nephews, Karen Souillard, John Kachel, Alissa Kachel, Maura Hiatt and James Linton.

Charles Good
Charles E. Good, 94, formerly of Strasburg Township, died January 14, 2012, at Landis Homes. He was the husband of the late Susie (Weaver) Good, who died in 2008.
Charles operated a farm in Lime Valley, near Strasburg, for many years.
He was a Minister for the Strasburg Mennonite Church and served as the Bishop for the Willow Street-Strasburg District.
Charles was a founding Board member of Landis Homes, where he resided since 1998. He also served on the Board of the Mennonite Historical Society.
Born in Brecknock Township, he was the son of the late Howard Z. and Lydia (Hurst) Good. Charles is survived by seven children, Don married to Phebe Martin Good of Landisville, Glenn married to Mildred Saner Good of Willow Street, John married to Phoebe Widders Good of Lancaster, Jane married to David Hess of Lancaster, Ruth married to Jay Todd of Manheim, Marlin married to Barbara Nissley Good of Lititz and Bob Good of Ashland, Oregon, 23 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren, siblings, Verna married to Warren Martin of Fleetwood, Sarah married to Lester Schultz of Paradise, Esther married to Raymond Martin of Fairmount Homes, Kathryn married to Ray Martin of Garden Spot Village, Arthur married to Freda Good of Fairmount Homes, Susie married to Leroy Gehman of Reading, Harriett Good of Denver, Helen married to Earl Gehman of Mohnton, Parke married to Lou Ann Good of Lititz and Phoebe married to Earl Zimmerman of Lebanon. Charles was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold H. Good and Ira M. Good, Charity H. Heller, Martha Stoner, Rachel Hoover, Clymena Hostetter, Sanford Good and Dorothy Martin.

Eugene Graybill
Eugene H. Graybill, 80, of Quarryville, died Monday, January 23, 2012 while under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. He was the husband of the late Mary (Myers) Graybill, who died in 2009.
He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean War.
Gene retired from Interstate Container Corporation, Reading, PA, after 30 years. He later worked as custodian at Fritz Elementary School for 15 years.
He was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church.
Gene was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was a member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club, Eastern PA Piston Poppers and the Happy Pappy Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed talking on his CB radio. His handle was “Geno.”
Gene was the son of the late Robert J., Sr. and Martha (Sanders) Graybill. He is survived by a son, Dennis Graybill of Mt. Joy and a daughter, Vicky Ruby of Quarryville, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, seven siblings, Christian Graybill of Manheim, Gerald Graybill of Ephrata, Kenneth Graybill of Paradise, Julie married to Jere Brubaker of Lancaster, Margaret married to George Urban, Jr. of East Earl, Janet married to Robert Kauffman of Conestoga and Shirley married to Howard Coldiron of Cochranville.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Charles, William and Robert Graybill, Mary Graybill McCombs and Martha Graybill Slaugh.
There will be a Viewing on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA and again on Friday, January 27 from 10 until 11 AM. The funeral is 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor James A. Davis officiating. Interment in Riverview Burial Park.

Bill Groff
William P. Groff, 69, of Strasburg Township, died at LGH on Thursday, December 16, 2011, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Marian L. (Brown) Groff for over 48 years.
Bill retired from ALCOA in 2004. He was a member of the ALCOA Retirees.
He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Strasburg Sportsman’s Association. Bill was an avid fan of Horse Racing and was a fan of Rick Hendrick’s NASCAR team. He also liked to attend garage sales.
Born in Nine Points, Bill was the son of the late Roy Ernest and Ethel May (Scheuing) Groff. In addition to Marian, he is survived by his siblings, Roy married to Hilda Groff of Nine Points, Frank married to Doris Groff of Lampeter, Sarah married to Maynard Groff of Bartville, Mary Emma married to Jay Phipps of Paradise, Harold Groff and companion Karen of Gap, Blanche Sliger of Paradise, Phianna married to Ed Kanuha of Frenchville, Kenneth Groff of New Providence, Pauline married to Charles Hanna of Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Groff.

Gilbert Martin
Gilbert S. Martin, 73, of Strasburg, died at LGH on January 3, 2012 following a brief illness. He was the husband of Sylvia (Stauffer) Martin for 55 years.
Gilbert was a retired farmer and drove truck for Stauffer Trucking, Oehme Pies, Way Services and Friendly Transportation.
He was a member of the Strasburg Sportsman’s Association and enjoyed cooking. Gilbert was an avid reader.
Born in Blue Ball, he was the son of the late Allen and Edna (Steffy) Martin. Gilbert is also survived by two daughters, Donna Knosp of Lancaster and Dianne Martin of Strasburg, a daughter-in-law, Jean (Newell) of Ephrata, wife of his son, the late Darryl Martin, grandchildren, Janessa married to Doug Daniels of Manheim and Jared Knosp of Lancaster, a great-granddaughter, Brooke Daniels of Manheim and three brothers, Mervin A. Martin of Millersville, Nelson E. Martin of Ephrata and Ronald L. married to Jane Martin of Lancaster.
The Viewing will be Monday, January 9, 2012 from 12 until 2 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. The funeral is 2 PM from the funeral home with Pastor Tim Patterson officiating. Interment in Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.
Mark Myer
Mark E. Myer, 92 of Brethren Village, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. He was born in New Holland on March 19, 1919, the son of the late Daniel R. and Mabel (Eckert) Myer. He was married to E. June (Risser) Myer for 53 years, who passed away in 1994. Mr. Myer resided in Lampeter for 42 years before moving to Brethren Village in 1993.
Mark was a former member of Hempfield Church of the Brethren and later a charter member of the Lampeter Church of the Brethren. He was a chicken farmer and school bus driver for Lampeter Strasburg School District over 40 years. Mark was active in the West Lampeter Fair, Lancaster County Poultry Association, and Camp Swatara. An avid bicycle rider, at 83 years of age he joined a team of Brethren Village staff members and participated in the Wheeling for Wellness 1,000 mile ride throughout Pennsylvania.
Mark is survived by his children; Ruth Ann wife of Marlin Harnish of Strasburg; Audrey wife of Jay Hollinger of Lititz; Robert husband of Barbara Hershey of Reading; Nancy wife of Raleigh Doom of Lancaster; and Janet Westcott, Cape May Point, NJ. He is survived by 9 grandchildren; Keith Harnish, Karen Diffenderfer, Mike Shertzer, Kathy Burns, Matt Shertzer, Jen Werner, Doug Myer, Joe Westcott, and Jon Westcott, and is his friend, Ruth Ginder of Brethren Village. There are 15 surviving great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his brothers, William Myer and Glenn Myer; sons-in-law, James Shertzer and Joseph Westcott; and grandson, Kevin Harnish.

Tim Rodman
Timothy Eugene Rodman, 53, of Brownstown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends following a three year courageous battle with cancer. Tim was a special husband and loved his wife, Barbara A. (Hornberger) Rodman. They would have celebrated 20 years of marriage in June, 2012.
Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of Harold and Pauline (Krantz) Rodman of Strasburg. In addition to Barbara, Tim is survived by a brother, Terry Rodman of Strasburg, a sister, Lori married to Bill Dinkel of Landisville, mother-in-law, Dora F. Hornberger; brothers-in-law, Ronald married to Dolly Hornberger of Quarryville, John married to Sandy Hornberger of Strasburg and sister-in-law, Joan Gappa and companion Chris Brandt, of Gordonville and a large extended family. Tim was preceded in death by a father-in-law, Harold Eugene Hornberger and a brother-in-law, James Dale Hornberger.
Tim was loved by everyone, everywhere he went. He adored his family and spending time with them, especially his grandsons, Gage and Clay Schatz of Bainbridge. He was an outstanding step-father to Shane Sweigart of Brownstown and Heather (Sweigart) married to Greg Schatz of Bainbridge.
Tim was employed at Dart Container Corporation, Leola for 30 years. In his early years, Tim loved driving and working on his Chevelles and riding motorcycles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Tim shared the joy of collecting coins with his grandsons. He was a life member of the Strasburg Sportsman’s Association and the NRA.
Tim attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Brownstown.

Pauline
Pauline Rodman, 74, of Strasburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. She was the wife of Harold E. Rodman for 54 years.
Pauline was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress at several local sewing factories. She loved to sew, cook and watch television.
She attended St. Michael Evangelical Lutheran Church, Strasburg.
Born in Strasburg Township, Pauline was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Mary (Davidson) Krantz. In addition to Harold, she is survived by a son, Terry A. Rodman of Strasburg, a daughter, Lori married to William Dinkel of Landisville, a granddaughter Emily, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Rodman of Brownstown, a brother, Carl Krantz of Gap, two sisters, Jane Weidman of Lancaster, and Kay Burrichter of Manheim. Pauline was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey, in 1967, a son, Timothy E. Rodman, who died in November, two brothers, John and Richard Krantz and a sister, Betty Landis.
A Memorial service will be on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 2 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM. Private interment at the convenience of the family.

Rita M. Vogt, 95, formerly of Lancaster County, went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2011, in Seffner, Florida.
She was a woman who walked with grace and dignity. Treasured by all who knew her, she was loved and respected by many. Her cheerful, outgoing nature and beautiful smile will be deeply missed.
Rita was an avid antique collector who spent many years traveling the world.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Tarpey) Kuehn. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband John R. Vogt, following a happy marriage of 70 years, and her sons John V. Vogt and Gerard M. Vogt.
Rita is survived by her daughter Barbara married to Bill Manck, of Florida, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
