Frances Elizabeth Di Guglielmo of Lampeter passed Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Her life was characterized by her willingness to help others. She was a Legal secretary, an adoption agent, and during her years of work with the boy scouts was affectionately called Mickey. She volunteered with the CV school district and earned her BA late in life from F&M. Fran enjoyed doing crafts, reading time with her grandchildren and also gardening. She was fun, and had a great sense of humor, threatening to clobber her son-in law with a bed pan on her death bed. Fran was smart, intelligent, highly informed and opinionated in many subjects right up to the end. As with all parents she was a pain in the arse, but only sometimes, and had also refined the guilt trip to an art. Fran was caring and an interesting conversationalist. She was welcoming of many strays into her home; cats, dogs, Irishmen, Englishmen, and Egyptians. She was comforted this last year with the hospice care angels that worked with her. Thank you all. Fran leaves behind three children, 6 grandchildren, a husband and many, many friends. You will be remembered. . In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or the Lancaster Public Library, 125 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602. |
